Cable Car information and advice
The cable car operates on a weather-permitting basis, so phone ahead to ensure that it’s open on the day you wish to go. The phone number is 021 424 8181. Get there early to avoid long queues, especially in the summer, and take sun-block and a hat during the warmer months – there’s little shade on top of the mountain!
Opening times are dependant on the seasons of year, and are based upon the times of sunrise and sunset – so double check these as well. You can buy one-way or two-way tickets, and children under 4 years of age travel for free. And of course, don’t forget to take your camera – a trip in the cable car is a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
