As the end of 2012 approaches, so does our tour of the beautiful Cape Winelands. In our final instalment of our “Expression of Wine Series” we visit our last wine region to bring you “Expressions of Durbanville”.
Expressions of Durbanville will be in conjunction with De Grendel Wine Estate and Restaurant, which also means we welcome and introduce Cape Town pallets to guest chef Ian Bergh. The philosophy of De Grendel is of beautiful, simple and tasty food and wine in an uncomplicated style. Expressions of Durbanville is certain to be a hit for those who attend the dinner and it will also be a welcome addition to the Mint Menu for December.
The last of our wine series for 2012 will commence at 18:00 on 06 December with a complimentary wine tasting to which all are welcome. A 4-course dinner with paired wines follows at 19h00 for 19h30 which is priced at only R350 per person. This also includes mineral water and parking at the adjacent Mandela Rhodes Place. A special room rate is also provided for attendees who wish to enjoy the elegant luxury of Taj Cape Town at R1750 per room, breakfast included. Price is for single/double occupancy.
For those unable to attend the launch, you are also invited to join us on Thursdays at the Earth Fair Market between 12h00 and 15h00 to taste a selection of regional wines from the current Expressions series as well as meet some of the people who created them. The dinner courses will be available on our Mint Restaurant Table d’hôte dinner menu for the month of December for two courses at R175 excluding a glass of wine or a three courses at R210 including a glass of wine.
Featured wines from the launch are now also available for purchase at cellar door prices through our wine kiosk which is open seven days a week.
As usual, those dining from our Expressions menu or those who purchase wine at our Thursday tastings stand a chance to win one of many prizes, including an evening stay for two in a luxury room at Taj Cape Town.
