Promising to be the culinary event of the year, the Taste of Cape Town festival will once again bring together the city’s finest restaurants, award-winning wineries, premium drink brands, niche food exhibitors and fantastic entertainment for a culinary explosion at the Green Point Cricket club from the 5th till the 8th of May 2011.
Update: [Press Release on the New Dates]
Billed as the most innovative and exciting food event in Cape Town, the festival now enters its fourth year in the Mother City. Following its highly successful run last year, the festival expects to attract nearly 20,000 dedicated food lovers.
So get ready for four days of signature dishes served al fresco style and prepared by the top chefs from fourteen of Cape Town’s best restaurants. It’s the perfect occasion for Cape Town food lovers to experience a veritable feast of trend-setting signature dishes paired with the finest beverages in an atmosphere of music and entertainment.
A new feature to the Taste of Cape Town experience this year will be ‘The Small Producers Market’. It will showcase Cape Town’s local purveyors of hand-made cheeses, pesto, home-made jams and sweets, as well as exotic ingredients and herbs.
Some of the finest wine, beer, whisky and coffee makers will also be present at this year’s festival with offerings to compliment the various speciality dishes being served. These include the Grolsch Beer Academy which features classes with a renowned brew master; as well as the Jonny Walker Whiskey Theatre which will offer tastings of their various labels.
There will also be plenty to keep the children entertained at the Taste of Cape Town festival. A special supervised “Kidz Zone” will feature jumping castles, an obstacle course, face painting, balloon artists, characters and carousels.
The Taj Cape Town provides luxury accommodation in Cape Town and will also be represented at this year’s Taste of Cape Town festival, showcasing delicious offerings from our Bombay Brasserie and Mint Restaurants.
