It’s a great place to train for the 2010 OUTsurance 94.5 Kfm Gun Run. And the Gun Run is a great way to enter competitive road racing.
The Gun Run is a half marathon that traces a path through the streets of Cape Town that includes Green Point, the city centre and, happily, the Sea Point Promenade.
This year’s race takes place on Sunday, 10 October, beginning and ending in Green Point.
Novice runners also have to option of a 10 kilometre route. And there is also a 5 kilometre walk / run – making the Gun Run an event suitable for those who have only just started training or are in the mood for a relaxed but active way to spend the day to super fit road runners.
The 2010 Gun Run has been linked to The Homestead, a charity that works with street children. 100% of competitors’ donations will go the organisation.
Entry Forms for the Gun Run 2010 are available from Sportsmans Warehouse stores.
Entries for the half marathon and 10 kilometre event must be in by 1 October. No late entries will be accepted.
You can register for the 5 km event on the day.

The Cape Town International Boat Show is an opportunity for boating enthusiasts to keep up with the newest trends and see the latest the boating market has to offer. And because entrance is free for children, it’s also a good opportunity to introduce your kids to the exciting world of boating.
The annual event, now in its tenth year, is held across two venues, the Cape Town International Convention Centre and the V&A Waterfront. Complimentary shuttles and boats will be available to ferry visitors between the CTICC and the Waterfront.
Start by looking at the ultra luxurious pleasure craft and aquatic speed demons in the convention centre and then move over to the Waterfront, where you will find boats too large to fit inside the exhibition space!
The event is more than just a showcase of boating technology. It also provides the chance to learn about water sports and maritime leisure pursuits.
Past events have featured extreme performances, like a skydiving exhibition show and simulated ocean rescues. No doubt this year’s 10th anniversary show will pull out all the stops to make this a boat show to be remembered.
You can buy tickets for the Cape Town International Boat Show at the CTICC or at the Bascule Bar at the Cape Grace Hotel.
