The new pedestrian skyway, over the always-busy Buitengracht Street, is nearing completion. What this means is that – as a pedestrian – you’ll soon be able to walk to Greenpoint, the new Cape Town Stadium and even Sea Point from the city centre.

The new pedestrian skyway means no longer having to navigate mutiple lanes of traffic which means that it’s going to dramatically increase the foot traffic between the city centre and Greenpoint.
This is great for us now but it will be even better during the 2010 World Cup. Because during this time certain roads (including Somerset Street) will be closed and turned into pedestrian only walkways.
If you’re a walker, rather than a driver, this is definitely something to look forward to!
